Applets Invisible - Black on Black

Hi, I just installed Ubuntu Unity on a Latitude E6420, and in general it runs well. I have a theme problem: I've tried multiple themes, but all of the dark ones render the notifications, wifi, and global applets as black on black. Is there a dark theme that doesn't do this, or some other icon choice that will make them white or colored on black? Thanks in advance.

Figured it out; it's a function of the icon choice. Ubuntu Mono does most of what I want.
